Cabin Fever

So far spring is a big disappointment:

You would think that it would stop snowing since it's, you know, technically spring, but no such luck. Oh well, we had a white Christmas, I guess it's only fitting that we had a white Easter as well. At this rate we'll be lucky if we hit 50 degrees in time for Memorial Day weekend...

This is the kind of weather Im moving into. Will I ever get used to it? What will I do with my kids?

Yikes! That's beautiful, but I don't think I could handle all that snow... or cold! Call me a wuss, I deserve it. :-/

Those are BEAUTIFUL! What I wouldn't give for a holiday like that.....any holiday! I was complaining last week about the pollen (photos will be posted later today) and how it's already too hot for me. I think God heard me; we're getting a "freeze" tonight. Ooookay, nothing like your freeze but I get to where my green froggie slippers a time or two more so I'M excited. And remember, cold good - hot bad. You can always put more clothes on but you can only take so much off.

p.s. - I didn't see an army of "Calvin and Hobbs" snowmen.....

Carolee: Not to be the bearer of bad news...but I have yet to get used to it, and this is my 5th winter. Your kids however, will probably love it.

Jillian: You're not a wuss. You're sane. This is ridiculous.

Queen: It's 18 degrees right now. 18. That is why there are no Calvin and Hobbs snowmen. Exposure to the elements for as long as it would take to make them is hazardous to one's health. Seriously.

And I think you're crazy for wanting to experience this. :) But keep in mind it's been below freezing for months now, so I'm slightly crabby. :)

Sometimes I miss living where it snows. The snow is so beautiful. However, driving in it is no picnic. After a few weeks of snow, I would always long for warmer days. I remember thinking that 50 degrees was warm weather. So I feel your pain. It probably won't make you feel any better to know that it is supposed to be 83 degrees at my house today. I have my windows open & we're all wearing shorts or capris. You'll just have to rub it in to me when it's 110+ degrees here & you're having a lovely day like I'm having today! Winter will end soon & you will survive! Hang in there!

I'm right there with ya! We had 6" of fresh snow the day before Easter. Hey, no one ever said Minnesota's weather was boring!

I thought of you last night and this morning; I think God heard our conversation as we had a freeze last night. LOL!!!!

Colleen: I'm glad to know that I'm not the only native Californian who has at one point considered 50 degrees warm.

Jeff: No, boring is definitely not the word I'd use either. The word "awful" would be a much better description.

Queen: Well, I'm glad you got a little natural a/c. Considering that your "freeze" is probably warmer than our high temperature for today, I'd probably be happy with your weather too.

I made a snowman yesterday. At least the stupid thing is melting. This winter blows. Terrible. I hate it. This snow would be great in December, even January. NOT NOW!

I personally blame Sven.

Dorky Dad: Frosty is melting? Well, that's a good sign...and I agree with everything you said about this winter. I cannot find language strong enough to express my utter and complete hatred toward the white stuff that insists on staying on my front lawn.

LOL!! You personally blame Sven...That made me laugh. But seriously, if I hear that guy forecast snow one more time, I'm going to throw my chair through the TV.

Just an extra little note ... I thought it might also bring some comfort for you to know that the California skies are a lovely shade of brown today. I can almost make out the outline of the mountains that are about 2 miles from my house. That really makes me wonder if I ought to open my windows today. This is most likely something that you don't miss about Sunny CA.

Colleen: You're right, that did make me feel better. That is one thing I definitely do NOT miss about CA: smog. Ish.
