A Post That's Actually Positive About Minnesota

Woo-Hoo!

The snow is gone, the snow is gone, the snow is gone, the snow is gone!!!!

Well, people, it's been a record week for the Twin Cities. We had two whole straight days where we hit at least 60 degrees!!!! Considering it had only made it to 60 degrees two or three times so far this entire year, I'd say we're doing pretty good! I'm especially pleased that almost all of the snow is gone. I wish it would stay gone permanently, but I'll take the next 6 months or so of snow-free weather in a heartbeat. I'd like to thank you all for your wishes of warm weather. I think it worked!

I've been slow to post this week because we had a great weekend, and I've stalled returning to reality as long as possible. Our trip to the Lowell Inn was fantastic. I loved the Victorian setting and decorations. Every room is different, and I'd love to go back and stay in some of the other ones just to see how they're decorated.

The weather never did really cooperate, but I love Stillwater so much it didn't matter. Friday we ate dinner at an old fashioned diner in town called Lily's, and then Saturday we visited the historic courthouse, had lunch in a tea shop (yum), did some shopping on Main Street (yes, Stillwater still has a main street--it's mostly touristy now, but I still love it), took a tour of the limestone caves, and drove around to gawk at all the old Victorian houses for sale. (Anyone have $1.4 million they want to donate for my dream home? Okay, okay...I'd settle for $700K. Anyone?)

We ate dinner at the hotel Saturday night, and lounged around Sunday before having to come home. :( It was just a really relaxing weekend and it was over all too soon. Thank you honey for a fabulous birthday gift!

Haha, I love your "single family" home. Well, I don't have the $$ for you, but you could always share it with 9 other couples =) There's 10 parking spaces, too!

Glad to hear you had a good time. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

It sounds like you had a most awesome time away from reality and time that was greatly deserved. Funny how you’re having sunny and warm weather and we’re having record lows down here in Florida. What a funny girl that Mother Nature is. I was outta the loop as well between training and vacation but I think I’m finally back…not normal, just back.

I almost choked on my coffee when I saw you had links to houses for sale. One of the things I love to do is “choose my house of the week”. (I prefer historic homes, too.) I’ll take that six bedroom, five baths for 699, thank you very much. historicproperties dot com is a place I waste entirely too much time.

Good to have you back; we missed seeing you!

That's right; your trip was a birthday present....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yesterday was my son's birthday and tomorrow is my daughter's. Even though my mom says all of the beautiful people were born in October, April's not bad either.

What a great weekend. Nothing is better than relaxing and eating good food:)

I can start my donation to your dream house at $1, now just to get 699,000 more people to do the same.

What a fun weekend! It's been almost 3 years since Jeff & I went away for the weekend. Maybe we should do that sometime soon.

I'm so glad that your weather is finally warming up! Enjoy it!

Kristy: Thanks for the birthday wishes. I did actually consider asking a few of our relatives if they wanted to go in on the house with us...but then decided that I'd rather have it all to myself or not at all... :)

Queen: I LOVE that Web site. If I ever win the lottery, I'm going to buy all the Victorian houses I can find. :) Thank you for the birthday wishes. I hope your kids had fabulous birthdays. I actually don't share their birthday month--mine was a little earlier in the year, but with death/pneumonia, we postponed the celebration.

Jillian: It was fun. :) I would highly recommend it if, you know, you ever want to experience what Siberia is like and come to MN for a weekend.

Carolee: HAHAHA! I love your idea. Is it bad if I actually thought about it for a few minutes to see if there was a way to make it work? And thanks for your donation. :)

Colleen: Yes, absolutely take a weekend away. Everyone deserves a little relaxation now and then.

I'd be glad to help you get your $1.4 million!

Unfortunately, I don't have enough money to be able to blow that kind of cash.

But I'd be glad to ...
